The supporters of Venezuela booed when A.C. Renascença was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shao Xiang Bing didn't get a good kick on the ball. The throw-in from Alfredão Silva in the 25th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ciriaco George. A nice corner shot did that Tomas Illescas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Baltazar Luz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 45 minutes into the match, A.C. Renascença's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Baltazar Luz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rufino Rengifo was the one to do the kick off. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Baltazar Luz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 52nd minute Tony Hazard suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. A.C. Renascença's Dagoberto Moreno was substituted for Tony Hazard. Renascença was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredão Silva to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rufino Rengifo in the 65th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Luz having to interfere. A.C. Renascença's Samuel Cosme was substituted for Ciriaco George. If Rufino Rengifo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baltazar Luz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 70th minute. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Luz having to interfere. With his leg Baltazar Luz managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 78th minute Dagoberto Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alfredão Silva fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A.C. Renascença's protests and gave Alfredão Silva a yellow card for diving instead. Alfredão Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Baltazar Luz having to make a save. 84 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Cosme came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 86th minute of play forced A.C. Renascença's goalkeeper Baltazar Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. 92 minutes into the match, A.C. Renascença's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Baltazar Luz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. A.C. Renascença had won after a very even match.
