In the 10th minute Gabi Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abraham Alguacil came free with the goalkeeper in the 11th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Norbert Balonek could save by the left post. Norbert Balonek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabi Gol in the 24th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Goianésia E.C's João Trigo got a free kick in the 25th minute. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gabi Gol went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Abraham Alguacil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norbert Balonek having to interfere. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomasz Poniewaz in the 34th minute of the match. Panama's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Abraham Alguacil in the 36th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norbert Balonek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th minute, Diego Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
When Panama's Tomas Berganza in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A collision led to Goianésia E.C getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Attila Kertész hit a great ball. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 67 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Panama! When the match had been going on for 69 minutes, Goianésia E.C's Gabi Gol got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Marcos Cotilla. In the 73rd match minute, Goianésia E.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Almeida to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute of the match Abraham Alguacil sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Norbert Balonek skillfully saved the ball. Norbert Balonek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Goianésia E.C reached it. 81 minutes into the match, Attila Kertész notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 84 minutes into the game, Panama's Tomas Berganza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Norbert Balonek made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Isidoro Sarmiento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Goianésia E.C defense, Tomas Berganza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Norbert Balonek. The Goianésia E.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norbert Balonek should have stopped the shot. The Goianésia E.C supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Goianésia E.C would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
