Mexico were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after Dexiators's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Alberto Tafalla was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Lennart Johansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Brian Bern left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dexiators fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 20 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Bern came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. In the 28th minute, Max Gustafsson made a precise shot to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The supporters of Dexiators booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Luque didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matthias Lindgren made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. 35 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Johansson came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Lennart Johansson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. In the 39th minute, Lautaro Mancebo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Dexiators booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dexiators's Matthias Lindgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 52nd minute of play. In the 57th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthias Lindgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Brian Bern tried to sneak it across the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Max Gustafsson came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Gaona scored 3-3 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Matthias Lindgren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Lautaro Mancebo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matthias Lindgren was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Dexiators would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
