Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Lartaun Ibar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Efraim Morais in the 28th minute of play. In the 31stth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A.Guimarães's Lartaun Ibar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lartaun Ibar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. C.A.Guimarães's attentive Well-Well Puč managed to snatch the ball when Salvador Gisbert made a throw-in in the 35th minute of the game. 38 minutes into the match, Efraim Morais notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efraim Morais in the 84th minute of the match. Peter Unesson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. If Dmitriy Didorenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched C.A.Guimarães eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
