C.A.Guimarães's Lartaun Ibar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 5th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Uruguay's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Efraim Morais fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Lartaun Ibar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 12th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Dmitriy Didorenko was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.A.Guimarães's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguay the free kick. In the 16th match minute, C.A.Guimarães was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dmitriy Didorenko to maneuver through the defense. In the 18thth minute of the game Francisco Seco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A.Guimarães's Lartaun Ibar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lartaun Ibar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Camilo Franco's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Jaime Cazalla got a throw-in 24 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Maximiliano Escribano. The supporters of Uruguay booed when C.A.Guimarães was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Linares didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, Francisco Seco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lartaun Ibar was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Efraim Morais received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joaquin Gayoso came out and tried to block the shot, but Efraim Morais slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 34th minute. Dmitriy Didorenko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Efraim Morais blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquin Gayoso having to make a save. In the 44th minute, Efraim Morais hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute, Maximiliano Escribano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Uruguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After the first half Uruguay were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Efraim Morais made the kick off in the second half. C.A.Guimarães's Efraim Morais got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Uruguay's attentive Mateo Garrido managed to snatch the ball when Well-Well Puč made a throw-in in the 58th minute of the game. Maximiliano Escribano in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lartaun Ibar, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Efraim Morais in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 62 minutes into the match, C.A.Guimarães's Efraim Morais sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dmitriy Didorenko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francisco Seco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Lartaun Ibar skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Uruguay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jaime Cazalla in the 66th minute. After 71 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Mateo Garrido. C.A.Guimarães's Lartaun Ibar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Seco in the 75th minute of play. Francisco Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Lartaun Ibar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Efraim Morais in the 80th minute of play. Efraim Morais scored 2-2 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 94 minutes into the match, C.A.Guimarães's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Escribano came free, but Lartaun Ibar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 96 minutes of play, C.A.Guimarães's Efraim Morais made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Uruguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
