Jailson Soares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jailson Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of the match. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 39th match minute, Breguete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean Alves to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Breguete FC's Attila Iványi got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eugênio de Carvalho made a kick off. Breguete FC's Jailson Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 52nd minute of play. Jailson Soares made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Breguete FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nando Custódio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 80th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jailson Soares but with some difficulty. A collision led to Breguete FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Joaquim Seco hit a great ball. 83 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 87th match minute, Breguete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nando Custódio to maneuver through the defense. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
