Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Falcão Sampaio. Falcão Sampaio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Erasmo Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Falcão Sampaio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 13 minutes into the match, Grentino FC's Gualter Sampaio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bo Edström was slow to take the kick. During this time Grentino FC's players had a chance to rest. Grentino FC's Bo Edström was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 16 minutes into the game, Grentino FC's Gualter Sampaio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 20 minutes into the game, Luis Andino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Falcão Sampaio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 26thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Grentino FC's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Falcão Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Joaquin Xacintu made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Falcão Sampaio saved Grentino FC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Gualter Sampaio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Gualter Sampaio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Joaquin Xacintu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Joaquin Xacintu really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erasmo Simão was the one to do the kick off. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter Sampaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erasmo Simão struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grentino FC. After some careless play in the Grentino FC defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Falcão Sampaio. The Grentino FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Falcão Sampaio should have stopped the shot. After 63 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 66th minute. Gualter Sampaio took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. Joaquin Xacintu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Grentino FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
