Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Montenegro in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Igor Siekierski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kryspin Owsiak got free with Julio Vera in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Siekierski having to interfere. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brow Team's Igor Siekierski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play. After 32 minutes Brow Team's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Luis Andino put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Igor Siekierski. Czeslaw Tipinski made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 36thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Julio Vera would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Brow Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrzej Cichocki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Igor Siekierski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 45th minute of the match. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Brow Team's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Agustín Saelices managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Igor Siekierski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 51st minute. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Brow Team throughout the match.
