After a rather tough play, De tulpen SC's Harm van Zomeren got a free kick in the 5th minute. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yu Ang Chuan having to interfere. With his leg Joaquin Gayoso managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when De tulpen SC's Valer Văidianu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Valer Văidianu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Joaquin Gayoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Harm van Zomeren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Harm van Zomeren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Valer Văidianu came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kevin Carballal kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Frits Daverveld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Frits Daverveld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Joaquin Gayoso managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when De tulpen SC's Valer Văidianu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Yu Ang Chuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 24th minute of play. After 26 minutes De tulpen SC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jaime Cazalla who took care of the corner kick. Yu Ang Chuan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 40th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yu Ang Chuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Uruguay booed when De tulpen SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Buskes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valer Văidianu in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valer Văidianu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alberto Gisbert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yu Ang Chuan having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 63rd minute of play forced De tulpen SC's goalkeeper Yu Ang Chuan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, Yu Ang Chuan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timoteo Manilan in the 70th minute of the match. In the 71st minute of the match De tulpen SC got a corner. Uruguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Frits Daverveld ran over to the corner to take the kick. Frits Daverveld made a great header on De tulpen SC's corner, it was just that Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso managed to reach the ball for a save. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godofredo Leyton in the 78th minute of play. After 87 minutes of play, De tulpen SC's Godofredo Leyton made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Timoteo Manilan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
