A collision led to GD Serra da Vila getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Alex Tavares hit a great ball. Moises Fernandino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. GD Serra da Vila's Saidi Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Fernandino in the 30th minute of play. In the 36th minute Moises Fernandino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saidi Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Moises Fernandino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 0-3 became the score in the 41st minute when Moises Fernandino elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The GD Serra da Vila players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. El Salvador were winning 0-3.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastião Paião in the 52nd minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the game, Jorge Magrina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GD Serra da Vila the free kick. Thanks to some nice moves Moises Fernandino could shoot a difficult shot in the 70th minute, which Saidi Costa however easily saved by the left post. Jorge Magrina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Saidi Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Abram Luque could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Saidi Costa made a huge save. El Salvador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mateo Leguizamo in the 84th minute. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Jesus Carvallo got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-5. 85 minutes into the match. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastião Paião in the 89th minute of play. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Marco Tamayo hit a great ball. The supporters of El Salvador booed when GD Serra da Vila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball.
