After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Bastiaan Moorlag kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. In the 8th minute, Bastiaan Moorlag made a precise shot to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teofilo Batista having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Francisco Seco took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Teofilo Batista to make any attempt to save it. In the 27th minute, Edoardo Marcucci made a precise shot to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Camilo Franco kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the game, Maximiliano Escribano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uruguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Unirea Castelul Nou the free kick. Maximiliano Escribano hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edoardo Marcucci in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute of the match Unirea Castelul Nou got a corner. Uruguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edoardo Marcucci ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Edoardo Marcucci got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joaquin Gayoso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Unirea Castelul Nou's Cazimir Diaconu got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute Jaime Cazalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teofilo Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Teofilo Batista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Bastiaan Moorlag left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Unirea Castelul Nou fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. Disappointed in the 1-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bastiaan Moorlag was the one to do the kick off. In the 68th minute, Edgardo Peyo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Unirea Castelul Nou's Adrian Cernat was substituted for Bastiaan Moorlag. Edgardo Peyo kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. A collision led to Unirea Castelul Nou getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Mugur Răduțu hit a great ball. In the 74th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teofilo Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adrian Cernat in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute, Mugur Răduțu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teofilo Batista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Mugur Răduțu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adrian Cernat got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Unirea Castelul Nou's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
