Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) ternana calcio fc's Amerigo Pugliese started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Biagio Villa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ternana calcio fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Aureliusz Podolski made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. When Amerigo Pugliese came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the ternana calcio fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amerigo Pugliese couldn't finish the play. ternana calcio fc's Ennio Bosso got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 31 in the game by Cristian Sancho from a close distance when the talented Aureliusz Podolski managed to make a qualified save. ternana calcio fc's players were relieved. Ennio Bosso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Aureliusz Podolski made a huge save. ternana calcio fc's Aureliusz Podolski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of play. After 39 minutes ternana calcio fc's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Agustín Saelices heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Aureliusz Podolski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 47th minute. In the 48th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. ternana calcio fc's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. With an all-out effort, ternana calcio fc's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ennio Bosso, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 55 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ennio Bosso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicanor Gilen kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aureliusz Podolski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 71st minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when ternana calcio fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Biagio Villa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, ternana calcio fc's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Aureliusz Podolski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amerigo Pugliese in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. ternana calcio fc's Anfilogino Pasquino was substituted for Ennio Bosso. In the 81st minute, Carlo Filice hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Aureliusz Podolski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amerigo Pugliese's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 89 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alvaro Punta. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anfilogino Pasquino in the 92nd minute of play. Anfilogino Pasquino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
