The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Felipe Ros a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Panama's Felipe Ros got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 13th minute, Kris Pearse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute, Tomas Berganza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Bath Boyce had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abraham Alguacil. 23 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Paco Everett came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bath Boyce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Miralles, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After some careless play in the Boroondara Milan defense, Alex Cambeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bath Boyce. The Boroondara Milan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bath Boyce should have stopped the shot. 39 minutes into the match, Boroondara Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Miralles came free, but Bath Boyce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Boroondara Milan getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Benny Atkin hit a great ball. Abraham Alguacil was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 42nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 47 minutes, Tomas Berganza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panama and the Boroondara Milan players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Panama's Tomas Berganza got a free kick in the 48th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Berganza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Paco Everett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paco Everett in the 61st minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Boroondara Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Bath Boyce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Miguel Miralles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bath Boyce was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. In the 75th minute, Jose Carita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th match minute, Boroondara Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rusty Reynolds to maneuver through the defense. Jason Sperling might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Cotilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jason Sperling ran back to his position shaking his head. Panama's Felipe Ros got his second yellow card of the match in the 90th minute. The referee ordered Felipe Ros off the ground. The supporters of Boroondara Milan booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Ros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aaron Barrios kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. If Jason Sperling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panama walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
