The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Mcdonald couldn't finish the play. If Luis Vázquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yu Quan Di to make the kick off. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rey Ronaldo in the 71st minute of play. Cassius Byrne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edward Mcdonald hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Gabriel Porfiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Mcdonald in the 78th minute of the match. USA made a substitution. Diego Bradley made a great header on USA's corner, it was just that Luganeros AFC's Gabriel Porfiro managed to reach the ball for a save. Gabriel Porfiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for USA. 97 minutes into the game, Rey Ronaldo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Marco Day was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. USA were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
