Mariano Lacasa started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natã Quintal in the 4th minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chile's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Valdo Diniz was slow to take the kick. During this time Nova Venécia-ES's players had a chance to rest. Dino Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Natã Quintal in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. Luís Gustavo Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gonsalve Alabern made in the 80th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Valdo Diniz immediately put the ball in play. Mariano Lacasa took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robinho de Salles. Robinho de Salles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Natã Quintals short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Thiago Pliego to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nova Venécia-ES's goalkeeper Robinho de Salles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Mariano Lacasa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robinho de Salles was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mariano Lacasa in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robinho de Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Robinho de Salles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. Chile's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
