If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esteco's Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 38th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto-Osvaldo Alonso came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 50th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto-Osvaldo Alonso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 54 minutes, Samuel Claude managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esteco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel Claude was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto-Osvaldo Alonso came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lorenzo Boni's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lorenzo Boni helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Esteco's Lorenzo Boni got a free kick in the 58th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norberto-Osvaldo Alonso in the 66th minute of the match. After 70 played minutes Esteco got a freekick which was hit by Zbyszko Szpakowski. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Esteco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Claude didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 81 in the game by Daniel Zorita from a close distance when the talented Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo managed to make a qualified save. Esteco's players were relieved. If Norberto-Osvaldo Alonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
