After a rather tough play, Cactos's Maurinho Trezeguet got a free kick in the 21st minute. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bran Allison made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 33rd minute of play. With an all-out effort, Cactos's Rolando Noboa threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cengizhan Baycan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 42 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Matias Gaitan who took care of the corner kick. Peru's attentive Alonso Berganza managed to snatch the ball when Victoriano Loreto made a throw-in in the 44th minute of the game. Bran Allison stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luz Tejedor's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Cactos's Bran Allison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 51st minute of play. In the 61st minute, Luz Tejedor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bran Allison was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Cactos made a substitution. Dorival de Carvalho replaced Maurinho Trezeguet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 70th minute of play forced Cactos's goalkeeper Bran Allison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute Luisinho Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisinho Maciel in the 79th minute of play. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. 94 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Luisinho Maciel came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafael Gallo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
