Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edson Nascimento in the 4th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edson Nascimento in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shen Xun in the 6th minute of play. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edson Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emre Kurtuluş didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseo Noboa went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of KARŞIYAKA booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shen Xun scored 1-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Emre Kurtuluş tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 24 minutes on the clock, Phillip Hörholdt commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for KARŞIYAKA! In the 27th minute there was a penalty for Costa Rica. Axel Tasis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Emre Kurtuluş. 1-2. 39 minutes into the match, KARŞIYAKA's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Puig came free, but Emre Kurtuluş reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Binali Baysal struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KARŞIYAKA.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Onur Övünç to strike the kick off in the second half. Axel Tasis in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Emre Kurtuluş, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eşref Tülün hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Lautaro Puig charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lautaro Puig the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 64th minute. Emre Kurtuluş made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Axel Tasis sent off a good shot on target. When Lautaro Puig was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. Onur Övünç sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Onur Övünç had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gencay Türker's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gencay Türker helped the player get up and apologised. After 85 played minutes KARŞIYAKA got a freekick which was hit by Gencay Türker. KARŞIYAKA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Axel Tasis scored to the left of an out of position Emre Kurtuluş, making the score, 3-3. In the 93rd minute, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Emre Kurtuluş. Emre Kurtuluş yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-4. The KARŞIYAKA manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Costa Rica to win.
