Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amado Gamus read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Caricancha's Amado Gamus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Caricancha from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Astor Senio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute, Fermin Precioso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Amado Gamus made a huge save. 18 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Amado Gamus, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Caricancha's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amado Gamus came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fermin Precioso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Caricancha's Stathis Gisgakis got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute, Agustín Saelices ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amado Gamus was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Amado Gamus made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Amado Gamus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amado Gamus made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Caricancha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Artaldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Caricancha getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Stathis Gisgakis hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Amado Gamus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 53rd minute of play. In the 58th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Gamus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amado Gamus narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 63 minutes, Astor Senio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caricancha and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Caricancha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Astor Senio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Montes kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Joel Artaldo, 65 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Amado Gamus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caricancha's Marco van Nistelrooij got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Caricancha's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amado Gamus came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Gamus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Astor Senio in the 86th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caricancha were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Artaldo took the corner. After taking down the ball on Caricancha's corner Cosmas Simbolon fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. After some careless play in the Caricancha defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amado Gamus. The Caricancha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amado Gamus should have stopped the shot. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Gamus having to interfere. Primitivo Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when Marco van Nistelrooij scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 3-1.
