Andy Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 7th minute of the match. With a little luck, Soda f c's Andy Garcia got control of the ball when Luz Tejedor tried to sneak it across the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Gugu Guimarães notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 20th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efraim Gilabert to maneuver through the defense. Ümit Daman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. After 30 played minutes Soda f c got a freekick which was hit by Victorino Nesto. Andy Garcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 35th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Ümit Daman came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andy Garcia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ümit Daman to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Niceto Gregory left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Soda f c fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Andy Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ümit Daman, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 75th minute, Niculae Turdeanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Soda f c made a substitution. Günalp Parskan replaced Victorino Nesto. In the 76th match minute, Soda f c was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niculae Turdeanu to maneuver through the defense. Günalp Parskan kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. In the 83rd match minute, Soda f c was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Günalp Parskan to maneuver through the defense. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andy Garcia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niceto Gregory in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zézinho Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Zézinho Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Antonio Tenorio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andy Garcia. Soda f c's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antonio Tenorio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Peru's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
