In the 18thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CERPA's Bernabe Arano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernabe Arano saved CERPA from getting behind. The nice shot from Delmar Valente in the 24thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Jonathan Ferrant had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. If Delmar Valente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernabe Arano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernabe Arano saved CERPA from getting behind. Bernabe Arano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The CERPA players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Venezuela were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Bernabe Arano when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernabe Arano having to interfere. Patricio Costa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 65th minute. Venezuela's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 68 minutes into the match, CERPA's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Bernabe Arano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Delmar Valente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
