Peru's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 15th minute Gong Chao Ke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julian Murillo scored 2-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lino Ibar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Anarko Kirchnerista's Lino Ibar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 21st minute of play. Julian Murillo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Lino Ibar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Lino Ibar in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Peru's Lino Ibar threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliseo Mina, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gong Chao Ke took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. Lino Ibar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute.
