The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Merengue FC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Maxi Nuñez hit a great ball. Mateo Llorienzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulão Bezerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When LOBO 1908's Paulão Bezerra, in the 6th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for LOBO 1908. 7 minutes into the match, Merengue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ernani Montenegro came free, but Mateo Llorienzo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Merengue FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jurgen Iwens was slow to take the kick. During this time LOBO 1908's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Nikolai Bondum heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 12 minutes into the game, LOBO 1908's Ernani Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mateo Llorienzo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 16th play minutes Paulão Bezerra shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Mateo Llorienzo and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darwin Núñez in the 19th minute of play forced LOBO 1908's goalkeeper Adilson Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adilson Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Jago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute Ernani Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Llorienzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mateo Llorienzo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernani Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. LOBO 1908's Jonathan Britto was substituted for Paulão Bezerra. LOBO 1908 were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Merengue FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jurgen Iwens took the corner. Jurgen Iwens made a great header on LOBO 1908's corner, it was just that Merengue FC's Mateo Llorienzo managed to reach the ball for a save. 40 minutes into the match, Merengue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ernani Montenegro came free, but Mateo Llorienzo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led LOBO 1908's Jurgen Iwens to fire away a dangerous shot which Mateo Llorienzo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 43rd minute, Ernani Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LOBO 1908 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Roland Banaszak made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, LOBO 1908's Ernani Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mateo Llorienzo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After 54 minutes, Domingo Jago made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. LOBO 1908's Adilson Moraes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mateo Llorienzo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernani Montenegro's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. LOBO 1908's Adilson Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roland Banaszak in the 61st minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, LOBO 1908's Ernani Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mateo Llorienzo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernani Montenegro in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mateo Llorienzo saved Merengue FC from getting behind. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Merengue FC's goalkeeper Mateo Llorienzo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When LOBO 1908's Ernani Montenegro in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Merengue FC's goalie prevented a goal. LOBO 1908's Prudencio Ixidor was substituted for Ernani Montenegro. LOBO 1908 were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Merengue FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jeremias Tande took the corner. After taking down the ball on LOBO 1908's corner Jeremias Tande fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mateo Llorienzo quite easily take care of the ball. LOBO 1908's Adilson Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roland Banaszak in the 73rd minute of play. Prudencio Ixidor scored 1-5 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mateo Llorienzo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Merengue FC's Mateo Llorienzo got control of the ball when Prudencio Ixidor tried to sneak it across the goal line. When LOBO 1908's Prudencio Ixidor in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Merengue FC's goalie prevented a goal. Prudencio Ixidor took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mateo Llorienzo. Mateo Llorienzo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. Ismael Frances recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Prudencio Ixidor got free with Mateo Llorienzo in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adilson Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Banaszak in the 90th minute of play. After 91 played minutes LOBO 1908 got a freekick which was hit by Marquinhos Sharkin. Mateo Llorienzo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Prudencio Ixidor went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-7 was the resulting score. The Merengue FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching LOBO 1908's performance. The match ended with a win for LOBO 1908.
