Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 7th minute, when Osvaldo Ospin scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deng Wei Lin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osvaldo Ospin in the 14th minute. Osvaldo Ospin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Jonathan Ferrant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Osvaldo Ospin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 27th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriano Pappalardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Deng Wei Lin in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Osvaldo Ospin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deng Wei Lin in the 41st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adriano Pappalardo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Rigoberto Mina fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Rigoberto Mina a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. A long shot from Arkhip Ilyin in the 47th minute of play was well struck, but Jonathan Ferrant made a really good save at the right post.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Deng Wei Lin to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The supporters of chacarita juniors booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Pappalardo having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Mauro Llorienzo made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. chacarita juniors's Amadeo Lizbeth got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, chacarita juniors's Inocencio Cristos got a free kick in the 79th minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Ospin in the 81st minute of play. In the 88th minute of the game Inocencio Cristos made a throw-in which Mauro Llorienzo played forward. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Ospin, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. chacarita juniors fully deserved thier win.
