If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zacarias Sesimbra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute, Luca Rouco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dragonf⮊rcE's Zacarias Sesimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 19th minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barry Houghton in the 24th minute of play. Afonso Quadros's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Quadros helped the player get up and apologised. Zacarias Sesimbra had in the 26thth minute some difficulties stopping Joel Gaona's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. With a little luck, Dragonf⮊rcE's Zacarias Sesimbra got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dragonf⮊rcE's Zacarias Sesimbra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Dragonf⮊rcE from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 40th minute of play forced Dragonf⮊rcE's goalkeeper Zacarias Sesimbra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Dragonf⮊rcE's goalkeeper Zacarias Sesimbra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Barry Houghton made the kick off in the second half. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Zacarias Sesimbra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zacarias Sesimbra narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
