The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 16th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. GÜMELİSPOR's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vecdi Yurday quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 18 minutes into the match, GÜMELİSPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Vecdi Yurday reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Esteve Canor came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the GÜMELİSPOR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esteve Canor couldn't finish the play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after GÜMELİSPOR's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Ferid Yalap struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GÜMELİSPOR.
