The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 11th minute, Hakkı Paşa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Gürcan Özkut fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GÜMELİSPOR's protests and gave Gürcan Özkut a yellow card for diving instead. Jonathan Ferrant was out of position in the 27 minute of play, and Esteve Canor capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Esteve Canor really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vecdi Yurday saved GÜMELİSPOR from getting behind. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. After 52 minutes GÜMELİSPOR's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Tomas Illescas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vecdi Yurday quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteve Canor in the 54th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alex Chicote during the 60th minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexei Perju in the 72nd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexei Perju, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Vecdi Yurday made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 75th minute. After 84 minutes of play, GÜMELİSPOR's Alexei Perju made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 87 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Alex Chicote. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. GÜMELİSPOR had played much better football throughout.
