The coaching staff of Fire Breathers FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dei Mercado had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 10th minute, one of Fire Breathers FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Fire Breathers FC. Axel Montenegro walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Through an outstanding action, after 13 minutes, Zavier Wagner successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Zavier Wagner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Montenegro in the 15th minute. Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zavier Wagner having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Montenegro got free with Zavier Wagner in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Axel Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Samuel Navarro hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After 28 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Navarro. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Teodovico Javia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Samuel Navarro got a free kick in the 35th minute. Zavier Wagner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodovico Javia in the 39th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ciano Trasloseros hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Colombia's Zavier Wagner threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Abram Sarmiento, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 47th minute Godfredo Teofilio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them.
