An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of play forced Camarón Bombay's goalkeeper Gianluca Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Camarón Bombay's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcelino Gartzen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, Camarón Bombay's Gianluca Buffon got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute Dieguito Van Der Kuijlen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 82nd minute, which Gianluca Buffon however easily saved by the left post. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dieguito Van Der Kuijlen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gianluca Buffon, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After having played for 93 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Camarón Bombay.
