The Zuberbühler FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 20 minutes into the game, when Antonio Arias put in a rough tackle. Julio Vera had in the 22ndth minute some difficulties stopping Abelardo Nardo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ubaldo Matildo Abbondanzieri having to interfere. In the 37thth minute of the game Marciano Min who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zuberbühler FC were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Abelardo Nardo took the corner. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Zuberbühler FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Venancio Calisto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 41 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. After 45th play minutes Marciano Min shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Julio Vera and just under the crossbar into goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristian Sancho to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Zuberbühler FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saul Baumer to maneuver through the defense. Ubaldo Matildo Abbondanzieri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Andino's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Ubaldo Matildo Abbondanzieri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Saul Baumer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Zuberbühler FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
