The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-7.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Frasier Huber got free with Benito Sanz in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 53 minutes into the game, SalentoUnited's Frasier Huber nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After having played for 75 minutes, Urbano Hotz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SalentoUnited's supporters crossed their fingers, but Urbano Hotz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. John Helgason recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 79 minutes into the game, Urbano Hotz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Urbano Hotz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-11. Urbano Hotz might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Urbano Hotz ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Urbano Hotz scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 0-12. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Urbano Hotz scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 0-13. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Urbano Hotz managed to get in a good position for a shot. SalentoUnited's supporters rose to their feet, but Urbano Hotz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SalentoUnited's attentive Ergincan Suerkan managed to snatch the ball when Hugo Ferrant made a throw-in in the 92nd minute of the game. When the final whistle sounded SalentoUnited left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
