Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ferenc van Nistelrooij started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 7 minutes into the match, S.João de Areias's Bonifacio Aznar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 12 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. A nice corner shot did that Silvano Severo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benito Sanz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 22nd minute of play forced S.João de Areias's goalkeeper Yusuf Ziya Sertaç to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Puig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Graciano Portugal's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Graciano Portugal helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, S.João de Areias's Graciano Portugal got a free kick in the 34th minute. Graciano Portugal kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After the first half Costa Rica were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. If Fatih Tekke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute, Bonifacio Aznar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.João de Areias fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 61 minutes into the match, S.João de Areias's goalkeeper Yusuf Ziya Sertaç had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Tasis. In the 62nd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bonifacio Aznar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ferenc van Nistelrooij received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when S.João de Areias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifacio Aznar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fatih Tekke in the 78th minute of play. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fatih Tekke's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. With a little luck, S.João de Areias's Yusuf Ziya Sertaç got control of the ball when Axel Tasis tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. In the 84th minute of the match Normando Lages shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Bonifacio Aznar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bonifacio Aznar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute, Lautaro Puig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Puig got free with Yusuf Ziya Sertaç in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. S.João de Areias's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
