Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ferenc van Nistelrooij made the kick off which started today's match. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ferenc van Nistelrooij in the 6th minute. The corner led S.João de Areias's Silvano Severo to fire away a dangerous shot which Benito Sanz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of S.João de Areias booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Bonifacio Aznar kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 2-0 in the 17 minute of play. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yusuf Ziya Sertaç having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, S.João de Areias's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Puig came free, but Yusuf Ziya Sertaç reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Ferenc van Nistelrooij received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bonifacio Aznar in the 35th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fatih Tekke scored 3-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. S.João de Areias's Yusuf Ziya Sertaç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 40th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Axel Tasis in the 49th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yusuf Ziya Sertaç saved S.João de Areias from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferenc van Nistelrooij in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes into the game, Juan Rubio threw the ball into play from the sideline. S.João de Areias's Bonifacio Aznar quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 59th minute Fatih Tekke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in S.João de Areias's zone, Eliseo Noboa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç came out of the goal and Eliseo Noboa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 63 minutes, Yusuf Ziya Sertaç successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute Bonifacio Aznar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 71 played minutes S.João de Areias got a freekick which was hit by Normando Lages. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yusuf Ziya Sertaç having to interfere. 79 minutes into the game, S.João de Areias's Ferenc van Nistelrooij nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Eliseo Noboa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eliseo Noboa really showed his touch with that goal: 4-2. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alexander Carballo got a free kick in the 91st minute. Axel Tasis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. S.João de Areias's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
