Leeton United FC's Erlend Sørby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute of play. In the 17thth minute of the game Brookes Crane who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leeton United FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gregory Krause in the 18th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ecuador's goalie and right to Brookes Crane. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 20th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paz Gledden got free with Julio Vera in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leeton United FC's Erlend Sørby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 27th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erlend Sørby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Wu Si Xiao stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Wu Si Xiao tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Xulian Cai fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leeton United FC's protests and gave Xulian Cai a yellow card for diving instead. 32 minutes into the game, one of Leeton United FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Erlend Sørby didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brookes Crane in the 42nd minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paz Gledden in the 44th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 45th minute. Julio Vera was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gregory Krause. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Gregory Krause shot a long shot in the 55th minute and a light blocked Julio Vera hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-2. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. 60 minutes into the match, Luis Andino dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Erlend Sørby, 1-3. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paz Gledden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erlend Sørby having to interfere. When Xulian Cai was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. A collision led to Leeton United FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Xulian Cai hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Carver Tencer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Erlend Sørby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Paz Gledden struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. An unexpected shot in the 94th minute by Cristian Sancho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The Leeton United FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
