After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Grabiel Escorcia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute, Nacional's Grabiel Escorcia ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Vera. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grabiel Escorcia in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Grabiel Escorcia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Joseph Gayoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xu Sha didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 40 minutes into the game, when Antonio Arias put in a rough tackle. When Nacional's Grabiel Escorcia in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Grabiel Escorcia might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Grabiel Escorcia ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grabiel Escorcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Nacional's Juaneizu Merida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Nacional from getting a goal against them. In the 65th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grabiel Escorcia in the 71st minute of the match. In the 72ndth minute of the game Grabiel Escorcia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grabiel Escorcia in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Nacional's Grabiel Escorcia in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. In the 77th minute, Grabiel Escorcia made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Joseph Gayoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Nacional's Grabiel Escorcia. But to his dismay, Grabiel Escorcia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Nacional's Juaneizu Merida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Nacional from getting a goal against them.
