In the 15th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanislav Dvorskiy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute, Milagros Cabal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Benedict Baird tried to sneak it across the goal line. Christian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stanislav Dvorskiy having to make a save. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Luca Espinar hit a great ball. After having played for 27 minutes, Benedict Baird managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Resistencia Tayrona FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benedict Baird was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Stanislav Dvorskiy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lautaro Navarro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ospetsu Villagarcia in the 36th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Benedict Baird notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Honduras's Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 40 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benedict Baird. Benedict Bairds short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Lautaro Navarro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A hard shot 48 in the game by Benedict Baird from a close distance when the talented Lautaro Navarro managed to make a qualified save. Honduras's players were relieved. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute, Sebastian Villa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Sebastian Villa got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute, Benedict Baird ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The audience was convinced that Benedict Baird's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Navarro was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. In the 60th minute, Luca Espinar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute Taurino Hernaiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 67 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Carvallo. Resistencia Tayrona FC's Navarro Escalona was substituted for Ospetsu Villagarcia. In the 68th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. When Resistencia Tayrona FC's Taurino Hernaiz in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Mihnea Vasilian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Resistencia Tayrona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Stanislav Dvorskiy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Taurino Hernaiz in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lautaro Navarro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luca Espinar might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stanislav Dvorskiy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luca Espinar ran back to his position shaking his head. The Resistencia Tayrona FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
