Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deon Broussard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Lufsarna booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deon Broussard took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Manolis Matsaggos tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 21 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Deon Broussard who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Deon Broussard almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. Ted Käcker made in the 23rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Mikhail Agutin immediately put the ball in play. Rune Brodin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 minutes, Jonathan Venegas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Lufsarna players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Manolis Matsaggos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. If Deon Broussard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 35th minute of play forced Lufsarna's goalkeeper Rune Brodin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manolis Matsaggos in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manolis Matsaggos in the 40th minute of play. The long shot by Deon Broussard in the 43rd minute really tested Jonathan Ferrant's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ingvar Bruhn in the 45th minute. Manolis Matsaggos in the 46thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manolis Matsaggos to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Manolis Matsaggos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Rune Brodin made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manolis Matsaggos in the 83rd minute of play. Gert Dahlqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Lufsarna's Ingvar Bruhn got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 93 played minutes Lufsarna got a freekick which was hit by Ted Käcker. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rune Brodin having to make a save. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Lufsarna fully deserved thier win.
