Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Benedicto Gamus made the kick off which started today's match. 8 minutes into the game, Benedicto Gamus recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Benedicto Gamus showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Godofredo Bras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godofredo Bras having to interfere. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Godofredo Bras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 22 minutes INDEPENDIENTE's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Higinio Macerio thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Godofredo Bras, a very annoying self made goal in the 23rd minute which led to 1-1. The audience was convinced that Jaime Icedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Alex Kárpáthy kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play forced INDEPENDIENTE's goalkeeper Godofredo Bras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Benedicto Gamus tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Godofredo Bras didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedicto Gamus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Benedicto Gamus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by INDEPENDIENTE's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Václav Lux kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Luis Andino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Godofredo Bras having to make a save. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. When Ermegildo Formerio fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored INDEPENDIENTE's protests and gave Ermegildo Formerio a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, INDEPENDIENTE's Ermegildo Formerio got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 63 minutes into the match, INDEPENDIENTE's goalkeeper Godofredo Bras had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Godofredo Bras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Godofredo Bras made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Godofredo Bras came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Icedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of INDEPENDIENTE's Godofredo Bras. Godofredo Bras was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Godofredo Bras read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Godofredo Bras made a huge save. INDEPENDIENTE's Cristobal Karmel was substituted for Benedicto Gamus. Godofredo Bras came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Agustín Saelices. But to his dismay, Agustín Saelices quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. 93 minutes into the match, INDEPENDIENTE's goalkeeper Godofredo Bras had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Godofredo Bras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Godofredo Bras firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
