Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Nottingham Forrest F.C's Richard Campidelis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Bueno having to interfere. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Nicolas Sergipano sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Nottingham Forrest F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Téo Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicolas Sergipano in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Sergipano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute, Téo Sampaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Nicolas Sergipano sent off a good shot on target. After 32 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Igor Neto who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Nottingham Forrest F.C's Igor Neto to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 34th minute, Nicolas Sergipano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolas Sergipano. 39 minutes into the game, Nicolas Sergipano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Nottingham Forrest F.C getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Cafu Pombal hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Nicolas Sergipano made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Sergipano in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolas Sergipano in the 55th minute of the match. In the 60th minute Nicolas Sergipano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolas Sergipano in the 65th minute of the match. Nicolas Sergipano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Artur Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Sergipano in the 81st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Sergipano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Richard Campidelis hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Artur Bueno made a huge save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Campidelis, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
