In the 45th minute of the match Amador Quinten sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. Dionisio Rik hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomas Illescas during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 53rdth minute of the game 高坤源 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If 高坤源 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independente F.C. Limeira the free kick. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dionisio Rik was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 高坤源 in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dorian Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorian Linhares in the 83rd minute of play. Severo Dubardo hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. When Independente F.C. Limeira's 高坤源 in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Robbie Southgate took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
