In the 4th minute, Lautaro Puig ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henrique Nóbrega was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. THESPA KUSATSU GUNMA's Giovanni Furtado quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Eliseo Noboa, made in the 7th minute of the game. In the 9thth minute of the game Axel Tasis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but THESPA KUSATSU GUNMA's Henrique Nóbrega was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Efrain Moruga got a throw-in 10 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Eliseo Noboa. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Tasis in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henrique Nóbrega prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 20 minutes, Agnaldo Diniz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the THESPA KUSATSU GUNMA and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. Agnaldo Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Lautaro Puig ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henrique Nóbrega was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Hugo Ferrant made in the 36th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Juan Rubio immediately put the ball in play. 39 minutes into the match, Eliseo Noboa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henrique Nóbrega. THESPA KUSATSU GUNMA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eliseo Noboa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After 41 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. After the first half Costa Rica were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 54th match minute, THESPA KUSATSU GUNMA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agnaldo Diniz to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes into the match, THESPA KUSATSU GUNMA's goalkeeper Henrique Nóbrega had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Tasis. In the 63rd minute, Agnaldo Diniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute Ismael de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Henrique Nóbrega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
