In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind UFC Pivnica's goalkeeper Ladislav Lomnický, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luca Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Ladislav Lomnický tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ladislav Lomnický came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Alberto Tafalla. But to his dismay, Alberto Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 24 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ladislav Lomnický saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ladislav Lomnický made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 35th minute of play. Ladislav Lomnický made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 38th minute of play. Joel Gaona blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ladislav Lomnický having to make a save. 41 minutes into the match, UFC Pivnica's Viktor Kasarda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When UFC Pivnica's Ľubomír Smatana in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mexico's goalie prevented a goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the match, UFC Pivnica's goal looked a bit too open when Facundo Cadaval came free, but Ladislav Lomnický reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ladislav Lomnický made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Facundo Cadaval sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Ľubomír Smatana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. A collision led to UFC Pivnica getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Maroš Baránek hit a great ball. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Ladislav Lomnický made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ľubomír Smatana in the 73rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ladislav Lomnický showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 76th minute of the match. It was a well-played corner which Luca Zorita managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 80th minute of play forced UFC Pivnica's goalkeeper Ladislav Lomnický to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Mancebo came free with the goalkeeper in the 82nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ladislav Lomnický could save by the left post. Luca Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pavol Rybnický in the 84th minute of play. Ladislav Lomnický took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Ladislav Lomnický made a huge save. Mexico were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
