The supporters of Ecuador booed when Pégasus F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chupan Mangas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kurt Groll's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kurt Groll helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st match minute, Pégasus F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Groll to maneuver through the defense. Umberto Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Groll in the 47th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Kurt Groll put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Pégasus F. C.'s Samuca Tepedino was substituted for Lu Xing Song. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Umberto Cunha firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 94 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. Xande Sharkin was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 94th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.
