The USA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 19th minute of play forced CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Ludomil Ziomkowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. USA's Edward Mcdonald got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso da Cunha in the 39th minute of play. Ludomil Ziomkowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 42nd minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Afonso da Cunha to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's zone, Marco Baker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ludomil Ziomkowski came out of the goal and Marco Baker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rambo von Buol-Schaudenstein, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ludomil Ziomkowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Khalid Parry in the 91st minute of play.
