Arquímedes Cesario received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rafael Gallo had several of the Los Delfines's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 90 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Matías Patrone as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 94th minute Oliver Bierhoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Los Delfines had won after a very even match.
