After a defensive mix-up in River Gold's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Paulista came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 7th minute, River Gold's Bartlomiej Lichniak ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodolfo Cordarius in the 13th minute. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Bartlomiej Lichniak scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 2-0. João Paulista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 22nd minute of play. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 23rd minute. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Tomas Illescas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and João Paulista quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Venezuela booed when River Gold was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidro Abella didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 29th minute of play forced River Gold's goalkeeper João Paulista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Paulista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. The supporters of Venezuela booed when River Gold was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ildefonso Hernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolfo Cordarius. If Bartlomiej Lichniak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. River Gold's Dante Ugutz was substituted for Aristides Bartuelo. A collision led to River Gold getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ildefonso Hernandez hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

River Gold made a substitution. Felipe Clemencin replaced Rodolfo Cordarius. Bartlomiej Lichniak struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Gold. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Bartlomiej Lichniak managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Gold's supporters rose to their feet, but Bartlomiej Lichniak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartlomiej Lichniak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 62 played minutes River Gold got a freekick which was hit by Bartlomiej Lichniak. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bartlomiej Lichniak might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bartlomiej Lichniak ran back to his position shaking his head. Through an outstanding action, after 68 minutes, João Paulista successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. João Paulista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Felipe Clemencin came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the River Gold fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Clemencin couldn't finish the play. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reynaldo Leocadio went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Felipe Clemencin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There was no doubt that River Gold were the better team. River Gold's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
