Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Ab van Zwam tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filip de Vries got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 29 minutes into the match, Biervliet's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Rob Kort reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filip de Vries stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Biervliet's Rob Kort got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ab van Zwam took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 61st minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute Ab van Zwam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Filip de Vries in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filip de Vries's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Rob Kort made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 70th minute of play. Florian Deuring scored 4-0 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 91st minute of the match Donald Luijten sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match.
