An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquin Prats in the 12th minute of play forced Roneros F.C.'s goalkeeper Ricardo Ceberiche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. 21 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardo Ceberiche narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
