Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. Tellier's Placido Lucero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 41st minute. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elpidio Vedillo in the 44th minute. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

The supporters of Ecuador booed when Tellier was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pastor Phelipe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tellier's Marco Hats was substituted for Evelio Firme. Marco Hats's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Placido Lucero having to interfere. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Celedonio Gabino kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita tried to score from far away in the 91st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Hats in the 93rd minute of play. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
