Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Gasteiz Latorre sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 22nd minute of play forced Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goalkeeper Jeremy Avellana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeremy Avellana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lorenzo Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Celso Trasloseros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celso Trasloseros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 46 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Jeremy Avellana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Cao Kuan Wei was substituted for Marco Aguirre. The wind increased when Anthon Öberg made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goalkeeper Jeremy Avellana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. In the 60th minute, Alberto Tafalla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jeremy Avellana was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anthon Öberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute Anthon Öberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Jeremy Avellana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremy Avellana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luca Zorita's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthon Öberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
